LOCONI INTERMODAL LAUNCHES DIRECT RAIL CONNECTION FROM BALTIC HUB TO OSTRAVA, STRENGTHENING ITS CENTRAL EASTERN EUROPEAN NETWORK
The new service connects the Port of Gdańsk to a key industrial region of the Czech Republic, with weekly Friday departures and a transit time of two days.
Loconi Intermodal, one of Poland’s leading intermodal operators and a member of the PSA Group, has expanded its network with a new direct rail connection from Baltic Hub in Gdańsk, Poland to PKP Cargo International Terminal Paskov in Ostrava, Czech Republic, following its launch at the end of May 2026.
As the first direct connection, this new service addresses the growing market demand for stable, predictable, and sustainable container transport between the Czech Republic and Polish seaports, advancing the Group’s Node-to-Network strategy in the region.
The service operates on a weekly round-trip basis, with trains departing from the Baltic Hub terminal in Gdańsk every Friday, running directly to the PKP Cargo International Terminal Paskov. With a transit time of two days, the service enables faster, more reliable supply chains and offers a stable, lower-emission alternative to road transport.

The new connection creates new commercial opportunities for exporters and importers from the Moravian-Silesian region, improving their supply chain efficiency, optimising costs, and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of their logistics flows.
This connection marks another step in Loconi’s ambition to strengthen rail’s role in resilient and sustainable European supply chains.
