Construction of an intermodal container terminal in Zbąszynek

Loconi Intermodal S.A. is implementing a project entitled “Construction of an intermodal container terminal in Zbąszynek” under measure FENX.05.06 Intermodal transport priority FENX.05 Support for the transport sector from the ERDF of the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 Program.

The project covers the construction and equipment of an intermodal container terminal in Zbąszynek (Lubusz Voivodeship). The investment provides for the creation of a comprehensive infrastructure that will enable the handling of containers in the intermodal transport system, the purchase of specialized equipment and systems that will be used for the operation of the terminal.

Within the framework of the project, the following tasks and milestones have been assumed:

Task 1- Construction works,

MS: execution of works related to, among others, the construction of the terminal slab, track and road system, necessary installations;

Task 2- Acquisition of the necessary handling infrastructure,

MS: delivery of terminal equipment: cranes, terminal tractors and reachstackers;

Task 3-Implementation of the IT system necessary for the operation of the intermodal terminal, MS: delivery of telematics infrastructure;

Task 4- Information and promotional activities, MS: execution of planned activities in the field of information and promotion.

The target group of the project consists of forwarding, shipping and warehousing entities organizing intermodal transport for end users. Among the potential customers are key industry partners of Loconi, who have declared cooperation in the new location in Zbąszynek. The recipients of the services will also be large manufacturing and commercial enterprises located in the region with high handling potential.

The objective of the project is to increase the share of intermodal transport in the national freight transport system and to improve access to intermodal mobility at national, regional and local levels.

The effect of the project will be the creation of a new terminal, which as a result will allow for the launch of four new intermodal routes (to Gdańsk, Antwerp, Duisburg and Luxembourg) and the achievement of a handling capacity of 300,000 TEU per year.

Loconi Intermodal S.A. informs about the possibility of reporting to the Managing Authority or Intermediate Body suspected non-compliance of the Project or the Beneficiary’s actions with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) or the Charter of Fundamental Rights (CFR). Signals, reports and or complaints regarding the occurrence of non-compliance of the Project with the provisions of the CFR or CRPD may be submitted by natural persons, institutions participating in the implementation of European Union funds, the social side (associations, foundations), by means of (a report in any of the following forms has the same effects as if it were submitted in writing):
